How do I Get Adobe PDF Reader ?This software is free and available to download from this location: http://www.adobe.com or http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html?promoid=BUIGO
What does "Download" mean? This basically means to copy a file/document to your local (typically your home) pc where you can open, read, view, print, email, etc.
HOW DO I DOWNLOAD A FILE ?Let's walk through two (2) examples: A Form Download and a Document Download.
Form Download To download the Paint Application form from the Association Documents screen: 1. Click (once) on the Paint Application link (file name). 2. File Download screen appears prompting you to Open, Save, or Cancel. 3. Click Save. 4. Save As screen appears showing where the file will be downloaded. Pay attention to this or select a folder where you want to store the file. Let's assume you accept the default of Save in: Desktop. 5. Click Save. 6. You see a quick download status bar across your screen. Note: If you're using Mozilla Firefox - you see a downloads screen with your downloaded document - all you have to do is click Open - very nice! 7. If you're using Internet Explorer (IE), you only see the Association Documents screen. 8. Depending on your Windows Operating system, you can click your desktop icon from tool bar at the bottom of the screen, Start button, or just minimize your current screen (by clicking the tiny underscore (_) at the upper right-hand screen of your browser). 9. Look for a "dog-ear" paper icon with a folder in a vise. 10. Double-click the icon; the WinZip self-extractor screen appears. 11. Pay attention to this, it shows where the file will be extracted and stored or select a folder where you want to store the extracted file. 12. Click the Unzip button. 13. Navigate to the folder where the file was extracted and stored. In this example, the file name is Painappl and it's a Word file. Note: If you do not have Microsoft Word, use the Contact Us screen to request a plain text file or a PDF file.
Document Download To download the Fence Policy file from the Association Documents screen: 1. Repeat steps 1 - 8 above. 2. On your desktop, look for a PDF file named Fences. 3. Assuming you have Adobe PDF Reader, you can click and read the file.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FORM DOWNLOAD & A DOCUMENT DOWNLOAD?The download program/process is the same, except a form download copies a file that is actually a form you can fill in with your word processor (typically Microsoft Word). A document download typically just copies a readable (pdf) file.
WHERE CAN I GET THE MOZILLA FIREFOX BROWSER?Easy. It's free and it's right here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
